The symposium “PeaceNow! Creating Peace in Difficult Times” is organized by the Shambhala Meditation Center Vienna, which is part of the Shambhala lineage of Tibetan Buddhism with more than 200 meditation centers worldwide. The Shambhala lineage goes back to Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Its current head, S.H. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, will be present at the symposium.

Shambhala is a movement that emanates from the fundamental goodness of each individual and strives to make an active contribution to a healthy and awakened society. This attitude arises from a genuine and gentle connection with one’s own heart and the courage to face the reality of our own being, but also the world and the people around us, without fear.

The Shambhala Meditation Center Vienna offers regularly and free open meditation as well as courses, seminars, weekend programs and intensive meditation practices.
Shambhala Vienna is a non-profit organization with around 100 members and is run on an voluntary basis. Shambhala Vienna is also a member of the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society.
